Recent BYD job listings tied to legal roles have appeared online, including listings that show up in Canadian search results. Some are tied to BYD Australia, but posted for Nova Scotia. This seemed a bit strange.

It seems they may have hired a select few already.

For Canadian buyers, there is no launch date, but it does show they're starting their legal setup.

Reuters previously reported that BYD was exploring the Canadian auto market through a regulatory filing. Canada has also changed its Chinese EV import rules, creating a clearer import path than the earlier 100% surtax environment.

So the takeaway is simple: BYD’s public launch details are still unconfirmed, but the behind-the-scenes work appears to be moving.
